108 Sarcastic Quotes That Are the Perfect Mix of Witty and Clever

Sarcasm quote: “Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit! Yet it remains the funniest.” by Fred Allen

Looking for a roundup of hilarious sarcasm quotes? Here they are. You’re soooo welcome.

Love ’em or hate ’em, there’s a reason sarcasm quotes are all over the internet. Like funny sayings, sarcasm quotes play with the interpretation of words and tone in a way that can stretch your brain if you’re not expecting it.

To use sarcasm, you have to say something that’s the opposite of what you mean (kind of like uttering a funny inspirational quote when you’re trying to be anything but inspiring). To understand sarcasm, you have to pick up on both the literal meaning and the underlying sentiment. Sarcasm is a true lie.

But there can be a dark side to all that insincerity. The word sarcasm comes from a Greek word, sarkazein, which means “to tear at something,” like a dog might.

By the 1570s, the word had become sarcasmus, meaning “a biting remark or gibe.” A sarcastic taunt can stick like nothing else; there’s a reason we might say our sarcastic colleague has a sharp tongue.

Instead of playful zingers like funny coffee quotes or funny work quotes, their comebacks are mocking.

So why do we use sarcasm so much? There are a few possible reasons you’ll catch everyone from kindergartners to senior citizens doing some verbal eye-rolling.

For starters, sarcasm is hilarious. Like perfectly timed funny quotes, a sarcastic comment can put someone rude in their place or help you make a self-deprecating joke (think: tripping over your shoelace and saying “Smooth move, huh?”).

Sarcasm is also a more mature way of expressing feelings like anger or disappointment. When your car doesn’t start yet again, you can turn to your mechanic and say, “I’m so glad we chose this one” instead of yelling in frustration.

By definition, sarcasm is the opposite of sincerity, and you can use it to signal that you’re not naive—this is probably why teens, in particular, spout sarcasm nonstop. Who wants to seem cooler and more grown-up than a high schooler?

Whether you’re looking to improve your comeback game or simply enjoy a smirk or two, these quotes will teach you the art of sarcasm. (Not that you need help in the humor department.)

Man Builds Underwater Maze For Pet Octopus,🐙Puts Its Intelligence To The Test

Shield Insurance Blog | December 7, 2023 | Pet Octopus | Medical Insurance | Shield Home Page

A few years ago, Mark Rober went viral with his amazing backyard squirrel maze video (watch here). The video garnered over 100 million views on YouTube alone!

Well, he’s back with a new video making the rounds. This time, it’s an intricate underwater maze for his pet octopus.

Octopuses are widely recognized as highly intelligent creatures. They are exceptional problem solvers, have an excellent sense of spatial awareness, and exhibit both short-term and long-term memory capabilities.

With these attributes, it should prove to be an outstanding maze solver. Now, let’s observe its performance!

Octopus

Octopuses are sea animals famous for their rounded bodies, bulging eyes, and eight long arms. They live in all the world’s oceans but are especially abundant in warm, tropical waters. Octopuses, like their cousin, the squid, are often considered “monsters of the deep,” though some species, or types, occupy relatively shallow waters.

Most octopuses stay along the ocean’s floor, although some species are pelagic, which means they live near the water’s surface. Other octopus species live in deep, dark waters, rising from below at dawn and dusk to search for food. Crabsshrimps, and lobsters rank among their favorite foods, though some can attack larger prey, like sharks. Octopuses typically drop down on their prey from above and, using powerful suctions that line their arms, pull the animal into their mouth. The octopus performs its famous backward swim by blasting water through a muscular tube on the body called a siphon. Octopuses also crawl along the ocean’s floor, tucking their arms into small openings to search for food. Sealswhales, and large fish prey on octopuses.

How To Make Things Right With Your Soul For Less Than A Twenty! 💲

Not Always Right | December 29, 2023 | Right With Your Soul | Shield Insurance

I am working at my register, serving a young woman who is trying to handle a fussy toddler. She looks tired, underweight, pale, and just… a little bit broken. This poor woman is going through the wringer. Sadly, I have to give her some bad news.

Me: “I’m sorry, but your debit card has been declined.”

She looks at me with eyes that I can tell are on the verge of crying, but she swallows this bad news and shakes it off like it’s a muscle memory.

Customer: “I’m sorry, I thought I might have been paid by now. My boss isn’t always on time. I only have £4.77 on me in cash. What can I get for the baby for that?”

She takes out her cash, all low-value coins, and places it respectfully on the counter. I double-check the amount of the items she is buying, all cheap store-brand items, and all essentials. It comes to just over £20.

Suddenly, without even thinking about it myself, I apply the employee discount and then tap my smartwatch to pay for the items.

Customer: *Eyes going wide* “Wait, what? What did you do?”

Me: “Today, it’s on me. Take your little one home to get fed, and then shout at your boss for not paying you on time.”

Customer: *Sliding the coins at me* “No… No, I can’t. Please tell me what I owe, and I’ll come back—”

Me: *Sliding the coins back* “I wouldn’t have done it if I couldn’t manage it. Seriously, please, it’s fine. I hope the rest of your day goes better!”

The customer finally breaks. The tears start running down her face and keep on coming. Her toddler has noticed and is confused, so she starts crying, too.

Customer: “It’s… it’s just… been so long… and I…”

The register is between the customer and me, so it’s a bit awkward, but I reach forward and give her a hug. She hugs back tightly.

Right With Your Soul

Me: “It’s okay. You’ll be okay. I think you need to calm your little one down a bit.”

The customer wipes her face and then smiles at her crying toddler, picking her up and calming her down as I bag her items for her (not something we usually do for customers). She thanks me again, and she’s on her way.

The next customer in line approaches me.

Next Customer: “You know that was a scam, right? I admit she was a good actress, and the crying kid was a nice touch, but she scammed free stuff out of you.”

Me: “So what?”

The next customer is suddenly surprised. He wasn’t expecting me to not be so naïve.

Me: “If she’s a scammer, well then, she got £18 from me that I can afford to lose. If she hadn’t been a scammer and I had done nothing, then I would be losing sleep thinking about it, and lack of sleep is something that I cannot afford. So, yeah… so what? Why do you have to be so negative?”

Next Customer: “I was just saying—”

Me: “Well, next time, don’t.”

I scanned his items silently and he left red-faced: angry or embarrassed, I didn’t care. Is it Right With Your Soul?

The first customer and her toddler were back a few days later. She had come back the day before looking for me, but I was off that day. She wanted to try to pay me back and say thank you again! Of course, I refused and told her to always find me when she’s checking out in the future and I’d see if I couldn’t wrangle up some discounts for her.

Returning the money… pretty sure that’s not something a scammer would do… Is it Right With Your Soul

Nature’s Hidden Gem: Rare Albino Deer Captivates Tennessee Yard!

The Mirror.com | By Alan Johnson | Albino Deer | Start An Insurance Quote Today! | More Blogs

Rarely-seen ‘ghost of the forest’ albino deer spotted in Tennessee yard

Spring Hill resident, Abbey Cabler, has described the moment she and her husband first caught sight of the animal in scenes she said were like ‘something from a Christmas movie’

A rare ‘ghost of the forest’ deer has been spotted wandering the premises of a Tennessee property, with the homeowner.

The Albino Deer

The albino mammal was first seen on Tuesday, October 24, by Abbey Cabler’s husband in their Spring Hill yard. Abbey, who later caught a glimpse of it herself in a sighting, described it as a “surreal kind of almost like mystical experience”. According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), experts believe albinism in deer is a phenomenon that occurs in approximately one in 20,000 to 30,000 animals.

Recalling her spouse’s experience with the deer, Abbey explained: “All of a sudden I hear my husband go, ‘Oh my gosh babe! Get out here now’, like kind of freaking out, kind of panicky, and I run out there and he goes, ‘There is a white deer. I swear.’ And we look out the window and sure enough there he is – just kind of like right on the other side of our porch, closer to the tree line just eating away on the bushes.”

College Graduate, 72, With His Biggest Fan Cheering Him On - His 99-Year-Old Mother!

Unbelievable: 72-Year-Old’s College Achievement with 99-Year-Old Mom’s Love!

SunnySkyz.com | October 13, 2023 | College Achievement | Start A Quote Today! | Contact Us

In a heartwarming tale from Georgia, a 72-year-old College Graduate recently celebrated his college achievement made even more special by the presence of his proud, 99-year-old mother.

Sam Kaplan of Lawrenceville decided to embark on his educational journey at Georgia Gwinnett College in 2019, half a century after he had initially opted not to pursue higher education following his high school graduation in 1969. The catalyst for his return to academia came when he heard a radio announcement about a degree program in cinema studies.

College Achievement to Screen Play Writer

Recalling that moment, Kaplan said, “I was driving down the highway when I heard about the degree program. The next exit led to Collinsville, so I promptly exited, and within five minutes, I was enrolling in classes. I’ve always had a passion for writing and storytelling. I aspired to transform my narratives into screenplays, but I realized I needed the foundational knowledge to do so.”

Kaplan admitted that the journey was a mix of anxiety and excitement, but it proved to be profoundly rewarding. He graduated with a 3.975 grade point average and summa cum laude honors, majoring in cinema and media arts, and has aspirations to continue crafting screenplays in the future.

“It was an exciting and nerve-wracking challenge. Reacquainting myself with the art of studying and engaging with fellow students was a lot of fun,” he told FOX 5 Atlanta.

99-year-old Parent watches College Achievement

The most poignant aspect of Kaplan’s graduation day was the presence of his mother, 99-year-old Virginia Kaplan, during the ceremony.

Virginia expressed her immense pride, saying, “I am so proud of him. He faced numerous challenges but persevered, and I am delighted, pleased, and incredibly proud.”

The jubilant mother also added, “With his new degree, he’s going to excel in whatever he does. Who knows, I might even make an appearance in the movies.”

Discover the surprising truth about auto insurance coverage for other drivers!

Discover the surprising truth about auto insurance coverage for other drivers!

Shield Insurance Blog | Auto Insurance | Start A Quote

Auto insurance is a crucial aspect of responsible vehicle ownership. However, many drivers are unsure about the extent of coverage when someone else is behind the wheel of their car. Whether it’s a friend, family member, or even an unauthorized driver, understanding the insurance implications is essential. In this blog post, we will explore the various scenarios and shed light on coverage for other drivers, borrowed cars, non-owner drivers, rental cars, occasional drivers, and more. Read on to find out what your auto insurance policy covers and how to ensure you have the right protection.

Coverage for Other Drivers

When it comes to coverage for other drivers, it’s important to understand the terms and conditions of your auto insurance policy. In most cases, your policy will extend coverage to other drivers who have your permission to use your vehicle. This is known as permissive use. However, it’s crucial to note that coverage may vary depending on the insurance company and the specific policy you have.

Auto Insurance for Borrowed Cars

If you lend your car to a friend or family member, your auto insurance policy typically extends coverage to them. However, it’s important to remember that your policy’s limits and deductibles still apply. If the borrower gets into an accident and the damages exceed your policy limits, you may be held financially responsible for the remaining costs. Therefore, it’s crucial to ensure that your policy provides adequate coverage for borrowed cars.

Insurance for Non-Owner Drivers

Non-owner drivers, such as those who frequently rent cars or borrow vehicles, may require additional insurance coverage. While the car owner’s insurance policy may provide some coverage, it may not be sufficient. In such cases, non-owner car insurance can be a valuable investment. This type of insurance provides liability coverage when driving a vehicle that is not owned by the driver. It offers protection against bodily injury and property damage liability claims.

Coverage for Friends Driving My Car

When a friend drives your car with your permission, your auto insurance policy generally extends coverage to them. However, it’s important to note that if your friend is involved in an accident and found to be at fault, it may impact your insurance rates. Additionally, if your friend is a frequent driver of your vehicle, it’s advisable to add them as a secondary driver on your policy to ensure adequate coverage.

Auto Insurance for Family Members Driving My Car

In most cases, auto insurance policies extend coverage to family members who live in the same household. This means that if your spouse, children, or other family members drive your car with your permission, they are typically covered under your policy. However, it’s crucial to review your policy and ensure that it explicitly includes coverage for family members. If not, you may need to add them as named drivers to your policy.

Coverage for Unauthorized Drivers

Insurance coverage for unauthorized drivers can be a complex issue. If someone without your permission drives your car and gets into an accident, your insurance policy may not cover the damages. In such cases, the unauthorized driver may be held personally responsible for any resulting costs. It’s important to emphasize the importance of never lending your vehicle to someone without proper authorization to avoid potential legal and financial consequences.

Auto Insurance for Rental Cars

When renting a car, it’s essential to understand the insurance coverage provided by the rental company. Most rental companies offer collision damage waivers (CDW) or loss damage waivers (LDW) that cover damages to the rental vehicle. However, these waivers may not cover liability for injuries or damages to other vehicles. To ensure comprehensive coverage, it’s advisable to check with your auto insurance provider to see if your policy extends coverage to rental cars. If not, you may need to purchase additional coverage from the rental company.

Coverage for Occasional Drivers

If you have occasional drivers who use your vehicle, it’s important to inform your insurance company. While some policies automatically cover occasional drivers, others may require you to add them as named drivers. By notifying your insurance provider, you can ensure that your policy accurately reflects the drivers who have access to your vehicle. This will help avoid any potential coverage gaps or disputes in the event of an accident.

Understanding the coverage provided by your auto insurance policy when someone else is driving your car is crucial. Whether it’s coverage for other drivers, borrowed cars, non-owner drivers, rental cars, occasional drivers, or family members, being informed about your policy’s terms and conditions is essential. Remember to review your policy, consider additional coverage if necessary, and always seek clarification from your insurance provider. By doing so, you can ensure that you have the right protection in place and avoid any unexpected financial burdens. Helpful Insurance Planning Tips for Parents of New Teen Drivers

Shield Insurance Blog | Teen Drivers | Auto Insurance | Start A Quote Today!

When a teenager earns their license, it is considered a rite of passage. For parents, this accomplishment can be both thrilling and nerve-wracking. Along with various safety concerns, insuring your new, inexperienced Michigan driver can be daunting. Thankfully, with some knowledge and a plan, you can find the best coverage without busting your budget.

Add Teen Drivers to An Existing Policy

Adding your teenager to your current auto insurance policy is generally cheaper than purchasing a separate one. Keep in mind if they are not on your policy, they will not be able to take advantage of any multi-car or loyalty discounts you receive.

Promote Being a Good Student

When it comes to auto insurance, good grades can translate into insurance discounts. Many auto insurance providers offer “good student discounts” for students who typically maintain at least a B average.

Enroll Teen Drivers in a Defensive Driving Course

Enrolling your teen in a defensive driving course is helpful. Your child will gain valuable driving skills, and, in many cases, they can also use the successful completion of the class to earn a discount on their premiums.

Revisit Your Deductibles

Adding a driver often increases costs; teen drivers are no exception. To counteract this cost, consider adjusting your deductible. Higher deductibles may mean lower annual premiums. At Shield Insurance Agency, we can discuss your deductible options.

Establish Ground Rules for Teen Drivers

Set driving guidelines for your teen that include no texting and driving, limited nighttime driving, and passenger restrictions. These practices keep your child safer on the road, which, in turn, keeps premiums lower.

Consult With Us

The journey of insuring a new driver does not have to be a challenge, but it does require a plan. At Shield Insurance Agency, we want to help keep your teen drivers safe as they navigate these Michigan roads. Contact us today!

Passionate Horror Fan Now Earns Thousands Teaching Creepy Make-Up Looks on Social Media

Good News Network | Oct 1, 2023 | Creepy Make-Up | More Blogs by Shield Insurance Agency

Meet the horror movie obsessive who now earns thousands every month sharing her creepy make-up techniques from her home in the UK.

Natasha Jane Wood used to “sneak downstairs” and watch her favorite gory blockbusters when she was a young girl.

“It probably sounds crazy but I used to fall asleep watching ’28 Days Later,’ which is a zombie movie,” said the 28-year-old. “I just found it so soothing.”

Creepy Make-Up and Special Effects

Inspired by Hollywood icons Tim Burton and Stephen King, Natasha had studied special effects makeup at Bolton University in 2019—but the pandemic provided the perfect chance to try new techniques when she was furloughed from her job at a jewelry store.

Honing her skills from her childhood bedroom in Darwen, Lancashire, Natasha found online fame after uploading her sinister looks to TikTok. She has since amassed over six million followers on social media and made her passion a full-time career.

“It all just kicked off in 2020 when I did my ‘Disney Princesses Gone Wrong’ series on TikTok. A video I did transforming myself into Jim Carrey’s ‘The Mask’ has over 100 million views on YouTube.

“My little brother and sister thought it was a bit cringe at first, but now I have the same amount of YouTube subscribers as some of their favorite content creators.”

The Disney Princess series included Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Belle.

“They were inspired by the Grimm Brothers, who did the original versions of the stories,” she told Southwest News Service. “With Beauty and the Beast, for example, I did one where she actually got scratched by the beast, so it turned quite gory.

“With Disney, it’s all happily ever after, but you don’t really see what would happen if it went wrong.
