There’s something so special about experiencing Halloween through the eyes of your grandkids. This year’s trick-or-treating was full of excitement, laughter, and just the right amount of chaos — the kind that makes your heart happy and brings back so many memories.

As the sun went down and the porch lights flickered on, we bundled up and headed out as a little crew — kids running ahead in colorful costumes, candy buckets swinging, and grandparents following behind with big smiles. Watching my parents out there trick-or-treating with my kids was such a full-circle moment. It instantly took me back to when I was the one holding their hands, running up those same sidewalks with a bag full of candy and a heart full of excitement.

This time, I got to see it all from a different point of view — seeing the joy on my kids’ faces, hearing their laughter, and noticing how my parents’ eyes lit up every time the kids shouted “Trick or treat!” It was one of those nights that fills you up in all the best ways.

Even our little Buzz Lightyear ship rolled right alongside the group, proving that Halloween magic is for everyone. The street was alive with neighbors waving, lights glowing, and that wonderful mix of fall air and happy noise that makes this season so special.

By the end of the night, the kids were tired, candy was everywhere, and our hearts were full. We safely left our furry babies’ home — cozy, calm, and probably wondering where all the humans had gone!
